The latest concoction is Dunkin' Donuts' eggs Benedict sandwich, which consists of an English muffin, black forest ham, egg and Hollandaise sauce substitute.
Last week Taco Bell announced it will soon serve breakfast items, including a waffle taco and a breakfast wrap. And McDonald's is considering extending its breakfast hours beyond 10:30 a.m.
The new Dunkin' Donuts' item, available all day, will not have actual Hollandaise sauce — which consists of egg yolk and liquid butter — but something more of the consistency of cream cheese.
Some users on Twitter objected to the association of Dunkin's sandwich to real eggs Benedict.
I pity anyone who thinks that the breakfast sandwich Dunkin Donuts is promoting has any relationship to actual Eggs Benedict.
